I'm falling into the bad habit of writing my daily logs the morning after the day's events.  That's what I did again this morning, but I'm determined not to keep letting history repeat itself.  No matter how tired I am tonight, I must finish today's entry!!!  :-)   Before I begin, though, I want you to know that this may be the last message I type with long nails.  Ever since coming to England, I've just let my nails grow. . . and grow. . .and GROW!  In the past, I've always clipped them regularly so that I could play the piano, but unfortunately, I haven't seen a piano in weeks.  As a result, my nails have become longer than I've ever worn them before.  They're driving me absolutely crazy!  They get in the way of the simplest tasks:  Washing my face, taking out my contacts, typing on the computer, etc.  True, they're very elegant, and mine seem to be strong, but they've become just too much of an inconvenience.  Off with their heads!  It will be so nice to be able to feel the tips of my fingers again; I'm so used to connecting with the world and making music with those beautiful, calloused fingertips.  (At this time, I'd like to compliment all the women who have learned to exist with long nails. Bravo!)

I had yet another lazy morning today.  I slept in, typed that tardy account of yesterday's events, answered some e-mails, and then dressed for church.  The wait in the tube station was ridiculous, so I ended up arriving for Sacrament Meeting 15 minutes late.  Darn!  At least I was able to hear everyone's testimonies.

I soon met up with Kristine and we went to Sunday School and Relief Society together.  Relief Society was wonderful today; a lot of people shared very moving personal experiences.  After church meetings, I headed straight home on the tube to grab some food.  I wasn't feeling particularly cheery, so I didn't have much patience when a man started walking beside me.  "How are you doing?" he asked.  "You look like a girl in a lamp--so mysterious and beautiful."  I gave him a quick smile and then headed quickly in another direction.  A girl in a lamp?!?  I've never heard that one before!

I ate some bread rolls and strawberries (delicious!) for dinner, and then settled down to answer some more e-mails.  You know what?  I've realized that I waste a lot of time on the computer.  :-)  Oh well.  It's important to me to record my daily adventures and to keep in touch with family and friends.  Now you know how I feel about you all!

At 7:00, Kristine came over to finish watching "Pride and Prejudice" with me.  She adored the movie, even though she kept comparing it to the classic BBC version.  I told her that I loved it too and that I thought we might be kindred spirits.  That led to a whole new discussion which revealed that we're both die-hard "Anne of Green Gables" fans!  We had such a fun time together.  Kristine ended up staying for about six hours.  We talked about anything and everything, and I was able to show her some pictures of my family, some recordings of my compositions, and the funny mocumentary that my family made just before I left for England.

After I'd told Kristine a little about my family and my passions and my life growing up, she took the reigns and showed me pictures of her family and told me stories.  We really learned a lot about each other.  It still seems so crazy to me that we've only known each other a little over a week!  Tomorrow, I'm going to pack, and then the two of us will visit the Florence Nightingale Museum and transport my luggage to Richard's house.  Tuesday should be fun, too!  We plan to hit Madame Tossaud's, Regent's Park, the Handel House Museum, and the British Library all in one day.  Whew!

Kristine finally left tonight (this morning?) around 1:00 AM.  I'm always so worried when she leaves by herself in the dead of night!  After warning her to be safe, I settled down to write this account.  And now you know all--or at least most!
